OEI is seeking to fill the following positions:

SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Oweis Engineering is looking to fill a Principal position serving as

a key technical resource

in its Cedar Knolls, NJ office with the addition of an engineer with at least 12 years of direct geotechnical engineering experience. Candidates must demonstrate experience in (or knowledge of) inclusive of design and evaluation of deep, shallow and innovative foundation systems, retaining structures, slopes, ground improvement, earthquake engineering, underpinning design, landfill design and other geotechnical features to support buildings, bridges, roadways and dams.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of geotechnical engineering experience with a MS in Geotechnical Engineering, PhD a plus. This individual will provide high-end technical leadership on complex projects. Strong analytical experience is required in the areas of, soil and rock, slope stability analysis, earth retention-systems, deep foundation design, soil improvement techniques, underpinning design, seismic design and pavement design. Experience in leading technical projects, directing multi-functional teams and developing and mentoring junior staff is required. The applicant is expected to manage challenging geotechnical projects in the NY metropolitan area and overseas.
Experience in numerical modeling (PLAXIS) is desirable.

• Direct and participate in the performance of complex engineering tasks
• Compile and present results of complex engineering studies
• Project Management of projects to deliver planned scope, schedule and fee
• Remain on top of current theories, emerging technologies, changing regulations,
market conditions and business opportunities.

Credentials/Skills/Experience:
• MS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering), PhD a plus
• PE registration in New Jersey and New York
• Minimum of 12 years of geotechnical engineering experience
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills; verbal and written

AIR QUALITY PROFESSIONAL

Responsibilities:
• Perform emission calculations and estimates
• Prepare data sets required for running and evaluating air quality models
• Conduct computer modeling of air pollution dispersion
• Prepare air quality impact sections of EIA
• Develop and source category-specific emission factors
• Determine federal regulations applicability and compliance
• Evaluate air pollution control technologies and costs
• Assist in preparing major and minor source permit applications
• Support preparation of proposal

Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering
• 10 to 15 years of related experience
• Knowledge of chemical plants and processes preferably in oil and gas, mining industries.
• Computer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Power Point)
and excellent spreadsheet skills.
• Verbal communication skills
• Able to define scope, schedule, and budget for project implementation
• Knowledge and understanding of federal air quality regulations
• Prior experience conducting air quality compliance projects
• Specific knowledge or experience in several of the following air permitting areas:
New Source Review (NSR), Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD assessments). Title V permitting,
Development of annual air emission inventories (AEI, SARA 313), Best Available Control Technology
(BACT) or Lowest Achievable Emission Achievable Rate (LAER) evaluations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AERMOD, ISCST3, and CALPUFF models
• Prior consulting experience
• OSHA HAZWOPER Trained

ENTRY LEVEL GEOTCHNICAL ENGINEER

Civil Engineer with a minimum of BS degree and one year experience in geotechnical explorations. The applicant must be familiar with the engineering soil classification system. Experience with construction quality control observation a plus.
